How Does Scar & Stretch Mark Removal Work?
By stimulating the pigment-producing melanin of your skin, our laser treatments make scars and stretch marks less visible against your skin. We offer multiple treatment options that can help reduce visibility of your scars and/or stretch marks. Depending upon the treatment, a topical anesthsetic may be applied prior to treatment for your comfort. There is little to no discomfort during the treatment but you may feel a slight warming sensation during the procedure.
Why Did I Get Stretch Marks?
When your skin is stretched, typically occurring because of weight gain, pregnancy and puberty (often breast growth in females), the connective tissue fiber is damaged which causes lacerations (the result of ruptured blood vessels). Even after excessive weight is lost, the stretch marks often remain typically assuming a whitish color. While the magnitude of discoloration may diminish over time, the stretch marks will remain to some extent. Laser skin treatments can reduce the visibility of your stretch marks in only a few quick sessions.
